Shocking!

Don’t faint or anything, but I finished my dress!  No photos yet – I’m waiting for a day/night when my husband is home.  Now that the time has changed it stays light later, so hopefully I will be able to get them soon.  As I write this, it’s 73 degrees outside – spring is here!  This excites me, even if we didn’t have much winter.  Would you like to vote for my next project?  I’ll go with majority rules.  Otherwise I’ll spend a week dithering over what to start!  It’s between these two (I am in a suiting sort of mood)

McCall's 6518

McCall’s 6518:  This is springing up online already, with very nice reviews!
Vogue 8231 (oop)

Vogue 8231: From my lonely OOP patterns.  This has large buttons running up the back of the top, and is actually two pieces.  The fabric is washed and ready to cut!

Help me to choose!

  1. I would love to see the Vogue made up because I have that pattern, too! I am planning on making it just as a top here in the near future. I’d love to see it in a polka dot – I’m going to do a floral! 🙂

  2. I vote for the McCall’s. The fabric has a little more cold weather vibe than does the polka dot. If Spring retreats a bit, it’ll look perfect for the chill.

  3. 6518. Very selfishly since I’m going to make that for my daughter and I’d like to know what you think of it.

  4. I go w/ the polka-dot print for the 2nd pattern. Just a little warmer looking for perhaps a few more cool days… before summer.

  5. McCall’s first! Because it’s still winter (technically? maybe?) and may as well sew a more cold-weather look dress, before all you want to do is sew spring/summer clothes!

  6. You will breeze through the polka-dots since the pattern seems quite simple. And then you will have the catharsis from that project to inspire you when you are matching plaids for the next…
