Dress: Delia’s, thrifted
Tights: Merona
Shoes: Sofft
I have a backlog of December outfit posts – I take them, but then run out of time to post them on the blog! I will get to them eventually, but in the meantime here is what I actually wore today.
This outfit is very me – it combines an empire waist, a fun print, and a bright color! I saw this dress at the thrift on Tuesday, and I ran for it like a mad woman (though there was no one else shopping!) I washed it, and wore it the very next day to a holiday party. This was the perfect dress to wear while consuming my own weight in pretzel bread and chardonnay (there was other food, but I like to stick to the basics, you know?) That was our last party of the season (I doubt we will be celebrating New Year’s with anyone who isn’t a cat) and I’m glad for the time to breathe a bit!
Such a cute outfit, I love it (:
I love that dress! I would have run towards it as well, such a cute print and seriously, who doesn’t love an empire line.
This is such a cute outfit! I am so impressed with your previous post and all of the things you’ve sewn (and blogged!!) this year. And I had to laugh at your comment about eating your weight in pretzel bread and chardonnay – that’s right up my alley of the types of things I like to indulge in. Forget the holiday cookies and sweets – sign me up for the wine and the bread and cashews! Happy New Year!
You’ve inspired me to try thrifting again. I got 3 semi-casual blazers at Salvation Army for $10 yesterday! One needed two buttons sewn back on (buttons were still there), another was fine, and the third needed a really good wash. Overall, much more satisfactory than paying $50-100 for each one. I’m not to the point of being able to adjust the sizing on thrifted clothing yet though…
I love the way that colored tights look but I can’t seem to get myself to buy any. I’m such a black tights and black shoes type of girl, I find it hard. I also can’t figure out which color will be the most useful in my wardrobe as I don’t wear a lot of primary or secondary colors and that is what most tight company’s sell. Seen any colored but more muted colors around?
We love colors is the best for color selection: http://www.welovecolors.com I have one pair, and their opaque tights are really opaque!
I love the tights … and your outfits! Thanks for sharing: you’ve been really inspriring me to think about what I wear and how I wear it. Which I’ve never done before. Turns out, it’s lots of fun.
This is such a cute outfit! And you have a great eye at the thrift store!!!
Cute outfit…I have red and purple tights that I wear to work on my casual days…got them online at “we love colors”. The have about 50 different colors plus some patterns and the best selection of colors in plus sizes I’ve ever seen…..
