But then again, I’m biased…

My sister-in-law sent photos of my niece Sarah in her new hat – at last, a captive target for handknits!

About me

Welcome to my blog! My name is Jessica, and I’m a musician living in Ohio. This blog details my journey into DIY style. I love to sew and knit my own clothes, and I’m a dedicated thrift store shopper! I also love fashion, so I’m attempting to marry my interests without causing myself to go bankrupt. I love bright colors, full skirts, and vintage styles.

#memademay2022 day 23! I finished up my Friday Pattern Company Saltwater slip dress this weekend. I immediately ordered a white bodysuit from Amazon to wear under it to live my best 90s life (see the last photo for some nostalgia if you're my age!)
I'm ready early this morning on #memademay2022 day 20! I have an early gig down the street.
#memademay2022 day 19! This is my New Look 6707 blouse with thrifted pants from Ann Taylor. This top seems pretty divisive and I think it probably depends on whether you lived through big collars once before or not! I did, but I was a little girl in the 80s so I probably don't have negative associations with them.
#memademay2022 day 18! Today I'm wearing my Winslow Culottes with a rtw button down. I didn't wear these much after I made them because they were too big, but I added darts to the waistband and now they are perfect! Don't be afraid to do simple alterations, they can make all the difference!
#memademay2022 day 17! This is the Megan Nielsen Olive dress in a pinstripe shirting.
I finished this Deer and Doe Myotosis dress last week, but I haven't been up for photos until today. I'm still pretty sick and it's been a bad week, but I am happy to get to wear my pretty new dress! The fabric is a viscose challis from Dashwood studio. It's got a nice weight and drape but it did tend to run when you sewed it.
