I finally decided to make Georgina next, and I started on the back last night. I do occasionally love a chunky knit – this is working up so fast!
The Cascade 128 is nice so far. I only have two negatives – first, that it shows a tension difference between my knit and purl rows (but this usually evens out in blocking) and second that the felted join is not a good choice here.
It’s not a huge thing, but it’s going to bug me, so I’m going to rip back and just do a regular join. I’m getting slightly over 3.5 st/in on size 10 needles. The pattern calls for 3.5, but I wanted a smaller size anyway, so it’s working out well.
In other news… I think I have reached the point of needing to get rid of some of my stashed yarn again. If there’s one thing that can be said for me, it’s that I’m a stasher but not a hoarder. I love to buy yarn, but if it doesn’t work for me for some reason I want it out (the lack of space we currently have may be contributing… just a bit.) Most of this yarn is in sweater amounts. I will make a sale post later, probably tonight, but in the meantime here’s what I want to leave my house!

You know, I’ve found a couple skeins recently where there’s a felted join in the middle of the skein… and I did the same – cut it and did a regular join. It bugs me too!
I’ve got my eye on a couple of those yarns… the colors are positively delicious! Mmmmmm!
yummy-look at all that yarn 🙂
Sometimes the felted join bugs me too.
I have been reading your blog for a while and you’re a true inspiration. So many gorgeous knits! Nice yarns too!
Uh, oh. I’m currently suffering from an appalling weakness in the face of beautiful yarn and fiber. Worse than usual, I mean. I think it’s the promise of fall. I’m going to be stalking your blog for the sale post, you know.
I definitely am interested. Keep me posted about the impending sale!
I’d been keen on buying the louet gems topaz when the time comes. Not sure if it’s okay to say that before a true sale post, but anyway, I would love it.
Can’t wait for that sale post! I’m sure you’ll destash in a hurry, those photos make everything look so tempting….
