I started my shrug last night during breaks from Josephine (which is almost to the end of the lace on the back… I can’t wait to make up some shaping!) Malabrigo is so lovely. I expect this shrug to fly off the needles!

About me

Welcome to my blog! My name is Jessica, and I’m a musician living in Ohio. This blog details my journey into DIY style. I love to sew and knit my own clothes, and I’m a dedicated thrift store shopper! I also love fashion, so I’m attempting to marry my interests without causing myself to go bankrupt. I love bright colors, full skirts, and vintage styles.

My boyfriend's cousin got married out of town this weekend, so I took the initiative to make both my dress and his bowtie! My dress is Vogue 9292, which is marked as a Very Easy pattern. I traced his bowtie off one that he owns. I used a beautiful cotton sateen from Minerva. The color is the most accurate in the second photo. It's so bright that it's hard to get! Swipe to see close-ups of the dress.
My current work in progress: McCall's 7950 in a cotton print from Fabric Mart.
Good morning! I'm still trying to figure out how to style this Peppermint Pocket Skirt, and I think my best effort so far is with this Amazon body suit! #peppermintpocketskirt #sewist #sewing #handmadewardrobe #memadetoday #memadeeveryday #memadeonrepeat #sewistsofinstagram #handmadewardrobe #isewmyownclothes
I think I found the perfect dress for breezy summer days! This is the Sew House 7 Underwood tank dress in a bamboo rib knit from Blackbird Fabrics. I made the midi length with the lower neckline and bindings at the armholes and neck.
My latest work in progress: the Underwood Tank dress by Sew House Seven. Sometimes you need something simple as a palette cleanser! It's currently on the dress form for a few days to see if it stretches - this bamboo rib knit is lovely but also quite heavy! #sewhouseseven #underwoodtankdress #sewhouse7 #sewing #ribknit #handmadewardrobe #isewmyownclothes #sewistsofinstagram #bfribknit
It's the last day of #memademay2022 today! I'm going to do some thinking about what I learned, but here are my immediate takeaways:
