Pattern: Bedjacket from “Knitting Lingerie Style”
Yarn: Brown Sheep cotton fleece in Peridot, 4.5 skeins
Needles: US 6 for the body, Size F Crochet hook for the edging.
Notes: After many tears, I’ve finally finished the bedjacket to my satisfaction. I chose to knit the 2nd size on smaller needles, because I wanted a size in between the two smallest, and also because I prefer cotton fleece knitted to 5 st/in. I left out the chain stitch called for in the finishing, because I could see that it would be tedious and I didn’t see that much of a difference. I love the picot edging, which made such a difference in the finished look of the jacket. Seaming this baby was a nightmare. It was knit in 9 separate pieces. I am very proud of my seaming here, especially on the armholes. Finally – non bumpy armholes! I am using a shawl pin as a closure, because I do not like it fastened on the side. The collar design, which uses short rows for shaping, is just beautiful. I really think this jacket would be flattering to all different body types. The pattern was (as far as I could tell) error free. Thanks to all who helped me with my mid-project doubts – it’s turned out really well, thanks in part to all your suggestions! There’s not much else to say, just more pictures!

Congrats on such a great look and sticking with it instead of ripping it. I also agree with you that cotton fleece looks better with a smaller gauge.

Oh that is so nice!!! The color looks so nice on you and it is such a great sweater. I like the way you are closing it in the front. That is a great option to the side tie and it really doesn’t lose anything as far as the look goes. Great job!

That looks absolutely fabulous! Wear it joyfully. Makes me think seriously about frogging a cotton fleece top down pullover that I’m fighting with and knitting up a bed jacket. Good to know about the gauge for cotton fleece; I’ll keep that in mind.

It is beautiful! I think it was very much worth all of your effort into fixing all the quirks. I LOVE it in that color, much prettier than the book. I think if I make it I would use a burgundy or maybe something close to the color you chose. I love green!

Hey, found this by googling ‘bed jacket knitting pattern’ on the second page of results. I’m kinda stuck on the part of the front pieces where it says ‘Working in St st, increase 1 st at center front edge………..’
What do they mean by ‘center front edge’? The middle of the row? The side that has the V-neck? Also the side seam part, which side? Side with armhole or the side with the V-Neck?
Where can I get this pattern.
