Still here!

I’m am stuck on edging island.  The bedjacket is lovely, but it is knit in nine separate pieces.  I have finished all but one, and it is seriously sucking out my soul.  The pattern uses short rows on the edging, so that means I’m knitting more rows than I actually get to measure… no fair!

I will say that, while complicated (and there will be lots of sewing!) the actual knitting parts of this pattern are very clear and manageable.   Here is the upper collar edging, which only had short rows in the middle.

Sweaters that are knit in this many pieces are supremely unphotogentic!

We actually went somewhere besides church this weekend – our friends had a box at Churchill Downs, so we spent Saturday afternoon at the races.

I am not a big fan of Churchill downs, but it was a good time, and we got to explain everything to our friend who is from DC.

  1. i feel your pain! I am knitting the phildar swing jacket and that has a lot of pieces too!! It’s certainly an uninspiring way to finish isn’t it :p

  2. I feel your pain. I have always hated sewing, ever since a D in home ec ruined my straight A GPA in high school. But somehow, having it be part of knitting makes it… better.
And so far, your bed jacket (well, your piece of bed jacket) is looking really good. Love the color!

  3. Wow, you’re flying on that pattern! It will be done and ready to wear in no time, I’m sure. 🙂
