Ms. Marigold – finished!

Our internet went out for 24 hours as a result of an awful storm, and so… Ms. Marigold is finished!

Pattern: Ms. Marigold from Zephyr Style, size small (34)
Yarn: Classic Silk by Classic Elite, in primrose, 3.5 balls.

Needles: US 4 for the body, US3 for the ribbing, and size G crochet hook.

Notes: I had to frog and restart on size 4s, after a mysterious mid-project gauge change.  I did the bottom ribbing on the smaller needles and bound off with a size 5 for stretchiness.  I only did 2 rows of SC on the ruffles, and I sewed them down so that they wouldn’t look like wings.  I love them though, I think they really make the sweater.  I really love Ms. Marigold!  The color is exactly the shade of pink I’m obsessed with right now, and this project feels like spring!

This was the first time I’d used Classic Silk.  Thoughts on the yarn?  It’s slightly difficult to work with – dry and powdery feeling, and it doesn’t really slide smoothly over the needles.  I love it though – it gives the sweater a rustic, romantic sort of feeling, and now that it’s blocked it feels sort of like soft terry cloth.

I tried to get Dionne in on the photos.  I figured she was jealous of how Leon is an internet star and all.

She was very unimpressed.

Now I get to decide what to make next!  I was decided on Cherry, from My Fashionable life.  I was going to use shine sport, but I swatched it today, and I really think I need something more crisp in order to show the texture, something with a bit of wool in with the cotton perhaps.  I’m thinking about using Cascade Sierra.  I’m making the Dollar and a Half cardigan as soon as the yarn for it comes in, but that’s a bit off.  Hmm… I’ll have to think about it!
